1.74 ct Malaya Color Change Garnet from Tanzania. Round Brilliant Design.

This is a beautiful precision cut stone optimized for brilliance with a color shift of pinkish red in daylight to orange under incandescent light. The camera picked up the orange color very dramatically when I took the photo under a warm light. Malaya garnets are known for their complex chemistry of Spessartine, Pyrope and Almandine. This Malaya garnet was sourced from an alluvial deposit in Tanzania. It is cut in a round brilliant design to maximize light performance.
