A New Chapter
Today marks the launch of something new, and I am very excited to share it with you.
With the launch of Scyntr Gems comes a new opportunity to share more of what happens behind the scenes—the places I travel, the interesting people I meet, the materials I discover, the stones that make their way to my cutting bench, and the ideas that develop along the way.
Field Notes is where I'll share that work.
From time to time, I'll be traveling to different places in the world in search of exceptional gemstone material. I'll share some of those journeys, the places and people along the way, and the stories behind the material that catches my eye.
Back at the bench, I'll share the process of turning that material into something extraordinary. Some stones will present unique challenges. Others will inspire a new design or a different approach to cutting. And every so often, a stone will come together in a way that is simply worth sharing.
I'll also use this space to share new developments in the way I work—changes to processes, new designs and geometries, and the discoveries that come from continually pushing the boundaries of precision cutting.
Not every story will be about a finished gem. Sometimes the most interesting part is what happens along the way.
